This
year is the first I noticed this particular kind of ice formation on the
canal. There were quite a few of them. This one's about 8 feet in
diameter. Each one has a leaf or small piece of surface debris in the
center, resulting in that star-like center and the most interesting
convoluted circle on the outside. It's a good example of how a large
effect can result from a small initiating source. Chaos

the brave only). |
