Lincoln's
Sparrow?
Having seen a
bird that I hadn't recalled seeing before, I sent off an ID request
(e-mail photo) to a
bird-buddy in Maplewood, NJ.
He replied that
it looked like a Lincoln's Sparrow. A few days later, I spotted these
two on a primrose stalk overlooking the Raritan. Aha, proclaims I -
Lincoln's Sparrows, perhaps? - but there was no-one around to impress
with my expertise* Well,
Joe, seeing this photo with my ID, quickly wrote to Canalphotos - Wait,
says he, they look like juvenile Red Winged Blackbirds, not sparrows
Here's
the Lincoln Sparrow (click) - and Here's
the Juvenile RW Blackbird Thanks, Joe...Canalphotos
