I didn't know what this small duck was- It was the first I've seen here.  I wasn't able to get close enough to get enough detail  for identification, but JW of Highland Park   provided the ID.

    My presence among this couple (female not shown) provoked uncertainty, then fear, then flight (unlike the response I get from humans, which, at times seems to be simple 'ennui').
