Japanese
Beetle
I can't find a
positive web site describing the virtues of the Japanese Beetle, here
shown almost in silhouette against a sun backlit leaf.
The site this
link takes you to states that the J B was first discovered (in the
U.S.) in 1916
in Riverton, NJ (during mid-August, no less) - what
precision!
Me, I've always
liked 'em - pretty, easy to pick up, strong, as they try to get out of
your hand, and fun to throw into the air and watch as they take wing. |
