Late January

All's well that ends well. So long, January - windy, cold friend - hah. . .plenty of room for me out there - just a blue hat, some dog afficionados, a few runners. . .but January's the place to be when you choose outdoor isolation. 

The birds are beginning with their calls to each other. December is relatively bird-quiet ( except for Crows,  ducks and Canada geese). Now the others are making their presences known. Chickadees, Cardinals, Titmice, Woodpeckers and more. 

My surprise this week was seeing a swan swimming alone in the Raritan - a first for me in this area . . .perhaps a wanderer from a nearby pond? Oh, right, it's January. . .no one to consult with. . .
