Late
September 2007
I
haven't gone far this month of September from my original
project's starting point in the park this month. The little
spillway area near the entrance bridge that has been full of
Goldenrod and Foxtails and Sneezeweed. It's my area of first
discovery and always produces satisfaction for me.

Originally, I identified the
insect on the right as a Sawfly - My deepest apologies to the Scoliid
family. The Goldenrod is abuzz.

Below (v) - I first suspected
vandalism when I noticed a dozen or so of the Hindu deity, Ganesh dumped
in the Canal. But, no - the Internet informed me that it's a ritual
immersion of the god. . . hmmmm |

So, anyway, I had to smile, but I
did think that the river was probably a better place for the immersion
since the Canal is a source of drinking water. |
